The useful details

Know what
you’re getting.

The Brother QL-1100 creates wide shipping labels and everyday address labels from a connected computer. Its direct thermal printing uses compatible DK rolls without separate ink or toner.

USB connectivity works with Brother P-touch Editor for arranging text, graphics and barcodes. The automatic cutter separates finished labels, including custom lengths made from continuous tape.

A print area up to 101.6 mm suits wider parcel labels. Choose DK media that fits the required label size and check current driver support for your computer before setup.

What’s in the box

QL-1100 printer, USB cable, AC mains cord, setup/safety and DK roll guides, plus two starter rolls: large 103 × 164 mm shipping labels and 62 mm continuous paper tape. Starter quantities differ from replacement rolls.

Replacement rolls or cassettes and optional accessories are separate purchases. Connected computers, phones and additional network or adapter cables are separate equipment.

Compatibility

Use DK rolls supported by this exact model. TZe cassettes do not fit. This is monochrome printing; it does not provide the black/red mode of the QL-800 series.

Check current Brother app and driver requirements for the exact device, processor and OS version before purchase. Legacy OS lists in downloadable brochures are not a current support guarantee.

App and setup

P-touch Editor supports design on a compatible Windows or Mac computer over USB. Editor Lite is a simpler supported Windows USB workflow. Supported Android devices may use a compatible USB connection; this model has no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet or iOS printing support.

Shipping software must supply a matching label format and paper size. Crop-and-print is a supported Windows software workflow, not a guarantee of automatic compatibility with every courier or marketplace.

Power and optional extras

Use the supplied mains cord and the printer’s internal 220–240 V AC supply. USB carries print data; it does not turn this model into a portable battery printer.

Care and label use

Keep fingers away from the cutter and hot print head. Stop printing before maintenance, disconnect power and follow the official cleaning instructions.

Thermal DK labels can fade with sunlight and heat. Choose suitable paper or film, test adhesion and use another system for durable permanent outdoor marking.
