The D-Link DGS-108 is an eight-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch for adding wired equipment to an existing network. Connect its power adapter and an Ethernet uplink, then attach suitable computers or other network devices to the remaining sockets. One port used for that uplink remains part of the eight-port total. The switch expands local connectivity; it does not provide a broadband service, Wi-Fi or router functions by itself.
Each compatible link negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. Gigabit is the nominal port rate rather than a promise that all traffic can pass at that speed through one shared upstream connection. Quality of Service, Energy-Efficient Ethernet, a metal enclosure and fanless operation. The lack of a configuration console makes it a straightforward option for a study, entertainment area or small office needing more cable connections.
The specified external supply is 5 V DC at 1 A, and Ethernet leads and an existing router or upstream network are required for the complete arrangement. This model does not provide Power over Ethernet to attached devices. Published C6 and E1 hardware revisions differ in size and mass, so those measurements remain revision-specific.

Use and product notes
Connect the specified external 5 V DC / 1 A adapter, an Ethernet uplink to the existing network and suitable Ethernet cables for connected devices. The switch is unmanaged and needs no configuration; a separate router/service supplies Internet access. Verify the adapter supplied in the Australian carton.
Use the specified 5 V DC / 1 A adapter and keep ventilation clear. No outdoor or ingress-protection rating is stated.
Does not provide PoE. Each connected link shares the available upstream network capacity.
Ethernet cables, connected network devices and an upstream router or switch are required for the intended connections.
Housing: Metal.
External 5 V DC / 1 A adapter is specified in both C6 and E1 datasheets. Power consumption and temperature ranges vary by revision. the switch has no wireless radio.
