The D-Link DSL-245GE combines a VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem with a dual-band AC1200 wireless router. It can connect an appropriate DSL broadband line directly, or use its configurable Gigabit WAN/LAN socket with a suitable Ethernet-delivered service. Three further Gigabit LAN sockets connect local wired equipment, making the device useful for a home or small workspace with both wireless and cabled clients.
The two wireless bands are rated at approximately 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 866–867 Mbps on 5 GHz in the retained manufacturer material. These are theoretical link rates rather than guaranteed internet speeds. No VoIP handset function is listed.
Setup requires an active compatible service and the provider's connection settings. DSL installations may use the included phone cable and microfilter/splitter according to the line arrangement. The Australian manual lists the router, power adapter, Ethernet cable, phone cable, filter and quick guide. The technical manual's port description distinguishes three dedicated LAN sockets from the configurable fourth socket, avoiding the impression of four LAN ports plus a separate WAN. The router body measures 214 × 130 × 32 mm and uses the specified 12 V/1.5 A supply.
Use the supplied-style power adapter with a suitable Australian outlet and connect either an active DSL line to RJ-11 or a suitable Ethernet service to the configurable WAN/LAN port. Enter the provider-supplied Internet/VLAN credentials or settings using the Australian R1 manual. DSL installation may need the phone cable and microfilter/splitter according to the line. Internet plan and provider equipment are separate.

Compatibility
Compatible broadband service must match the DSL modem or configurable Ethernet WAN mode and provider settings. One RJ-11 DSL interface, one Gigabit Ethernet WAN/LAN socket plus three Gigabit LAN sockets; D-Link AU marketing describes four Gigabit LAN connections, counting the configurable port. Dual-band 802.11ac/n/g/b/a Wi-Fi serves compatible clients, with theoretical 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 866 Mbps at 5 GHz. The USB 3.0 socket is for supported storage-sharing functions; this is not a VoIP handset router.
Use and product notes
Use the supplied-style power adapter with a suitable Australian outlet and connect either an active DSL line to RJ-11 or a suitable Ethernet service to the configurable WAN/LAN port. Enter the provider-supplied Internet/VLAN credentials or settings using the Australian R1 manual. DSL installation may need the phone cable and microfilter/splitter according to the line. Internet plan and provider equipment are separate.
The Australian R1 manual specifies operation at 0–45 °C and up to 95% non-condensing humidity, with −20 to 70 °C storage. Keep ventilation unobstructed and use the specified 12 V/1.5 A adapter. Place the router in a dry, ventilated location with clearance for its external antennas.
No VoIP support is listed. Advertised band rates are theoretical and coverage depends on building layout.

D-Link AU R1 manual lists adapter input 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz and output 12 V DC / 1.5 A. Dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi rates are theoretical maxima and vary with environment.
