The D-Link DSL-X1852E combines a VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem, Wi-Fi 6 router and two FXS telephone ports. Its dedicated Gigabit WAN handles a suitable Ethernet broadband service, while four additional Gigabit LAN ports connect local wired devices. Wireless operation is dual band: the R1 technical sheet lists up to 600 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 1200 Mbps at 5 GHz, both theoretical link rates. The two handset ports need VoIP account settings from a compatible service provider before calls will work.
The Australian manual lists the router, power adapter, Ethernet and phone cables, xDSL microfilter/splitter and quick guide. USB mobile-broadband support names the older DWM-222; do not assume the newer DWM-222W is a supported substitute.
The integrated modem can simplify a compatible DSL installation, while the separate WAN port provides another service connection route without consuming one of the four LAN sockets. Telephone capability depends on a supported VoIP account rather than the presence of the sockets alone. The retained AU page's 574 Mbps and R1 sheet's 600 Mbps 2.4 GHz figures differ, so neither is presented as a guaranteed measured speed.
A suitable active broadband service, provider connection settings and mains outlet are required. Connect DSL or Ethernet WAN as appropriate, power with the specified 12 V/2 A adapter, and configure Internet and Wi-Fi in the router interface. VoIP calls require a separate compatible VoIP service and SIP/account settings from the service provider; handset and service are not included by the AU manual package.

Compatibility
Connects to a compatible VDSL2/ADSL2+ line through RJ-11, or suitable Ethernet broadband through the dedicated Gigabit WAN port. Four separate Gigabit LAN ports serve wired clients; two FXS ports can connect telephone handsets only with compatible VoIP service and provider-supplied account settings. 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 serves compatible wireless clients; USB 3.0 functions depend on supported equipment. D-Link AU specifically mentions older DWM-222 cellular adapter support, not the distinct DWM-222W.
App and setup
A suitable active broadband service, provider connection settings and mains outlet are required. Connect DSL or Ethernet WAN as appropriate, power with the specified 12 V/2 A adapter, and configure Internet and Wi-Fi in the router interface. VoIP calls require a separate compatible VoIP service and SIP/account settings from the service provider; handset and service are not included by the AU manual package.
Use within the R1 maker operating range of 5–40 °C and 10–90% non-condensing humidity. Storage range is −20 to 70 °C and 5–95% non-condensing. Use the specified 12 V/2 A adapter, keep ventilation and antennas unobstructed, and avoid moisture.
Provider VoIP compatibility must be confirmed. Advertised Wi-Fi rates and coverage are conditional.
Compatible broadband and, for calls, compatible VoIP service/settings. Mobile backup needs the separate supported USB modem and service.

Australian R1 manual specifies adapter input 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz and router supply 12 V DC / 2 A. The AU datasheet lists RCM and Telepermit. Wi-Fi 6 link rates are theoretical, up to 600 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 1200 Mbps at 5 GHz in the R1 sheet; the AU marketing page rounds 2.4 GHz to 574 Mbps. These are Wi-Fi link figures, not broadband speeds.
