D-Link DSP-111 USB-C M.2 SSD Enclosure
The DSP-111 turns a separately purchased compatible M.2 SSD into a USB-C external drive. 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes, M or B+M keys, up to 4 TB capacity and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface rated to 10 Gbps.
Useful features
At a glanceFour M.2 board lengths
Four M.2 board lengths: accommodates compatible 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 SSDs, allowing several physical drive sizes.
Up to 4 TB supported capacity
Up to 4 TB supported capacity: permits a suitable separately purchased SSD within the capacity limit.
USB-C link up to 10 Gbps
USB-C link up to 10 Gbps: connects the installed drive to a suitable host; sustained transfer speed depends on the whole setup.
Tool-free installation
Tool-free installation: uses the enclosure's latch and sliding cover to fit a compatible SSD without a screw-based installation step.
ABS and aluminium-alloy case
ABS and aluminium-alloy case: provides the mixed-material housing for the installed drive.
Thermal pad and heatsink
Thermal pad and heatsink: form part of the thermal design.
USB-powered operation
USB-powered operation: draws enclosure power through the host connection without a separate power adapter.
86 g empty enclosure
86 g empty enclosure: describes the body before an SSD is fitted, helping assess the portable setup's actual weight.

Its body measures 124 × 35 × 14 mm and weighs 86 g without an SSD. Tool-free installation uses the supplied-style latch and sliding cover, and the host supplies power over USB.
D-Link AU lists Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux and Android. Choose an NVMe SSD; the supported configuration here does not include SATA-only M.2 drives.
For a compatible spare NVMe drive, the enclosure provides a way to create external storage for moving files or keeping an additional copy of work. The choice of four supported board lengths gives flexibility when fitting an existing SSD, but physical fit and the correct drive protocol are both essential. USB provides power, avoiding a separate enclosure power supply. The ABS-and-aluminium-alloy case and thermal components form part of the enclosure design. The 10 Gbps interface rating describes the USB link: actual file transfers also depend on the SSD, host, cable and workload. A blank SSD may require initialisation and a file system supported by the intended computers.

Use and product notes
A compatible M.2 SSD and USB-C host are required separately. Install the SSD with the latch and cover following the exact AU quick guide, connect the enclosure with a suitable USB-C data cable, then initialise or mount the SSD as needed on the host. D-Link AU describes tool-free, driver-free operation with no separate power connection.
Operate at 0–40 °C and 10–90% non-condensing humidity; the AU datasheet lists −20 to 75 °C and 5–95% non-condensing for storage. Keep the USB connection and enclosure dry and avoid obstructing its passive cooling. Follow the exact setup guide when installing the SSD.
An SSD is required separately. The 10 Gbps USB rating is a maximum link speed; actual transfer speed depends on the SSD, cable, host and workload. SATA-only drives are excluded from the supported configuration here.
A compatible M.2 SSD and a host with USB-C data support are required separately. The enclosure contains no SSD.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connection, up to 10 Gbps theoretical interface rate; powered by the USB host, with no separate mains adapter or wireless radio. D-Link AU datasheet lists RCM. Actual throughput depends on SSD, host, software and cable.
