The DUB-E255 provides an RJ45 connection for a compatible USB-C device. Its Ethernet port negotiates 10, 100, 1000 or 2500 Mbps links with supported network equipment. Actual transfer speed depends on the host connection, operating system and network.
A separate USB-C power supply can feed the pass-through port while the adapter is in use. Check device power requirements and driver support before purchase.
A 2.5 Gbps switch or router port and suitable cabling are needed to establish that link rate; a slower upstream port remains a bottleneck. The attached 180 mm lead places the adapter close to the host, while the green and orange indicators show connection and activity. Power pass-through can reduce the need for another charging port, but does not include the external charger or establish 100 W delivery to the computer.
Adds wired networking and a USB-C power pass-through connection to a compatible device.

Useful for people who need this function: Adds wired networking and a USB-C power pass-through connection to a compatible device.
Connect the USB-C plug to a compatible host and an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port. A suitable USB-C supply can be attached for pass-through charging, subject to host and adapter power needs.

Specifications
What’s in the box
One DUB-E255 USB-C to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet adapter, one Quick Setup Guide and one warranty card. D-Link states an optional USB-C power adapter is not included.
Compatibility
Manufacturer lists macOS, Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11, iPadOS and Android
Use and product notes
Connect the attached USB-C plug to a suitable USB-C host and an Ethernet cable to a compatible network port. The AU guide illustrates laptop, MacBook, iPad and smartphone use; actual OS/host support and PD pass-through depend on the device. A USB-C PD supply is separate if pass-through charging is required.
Use at 10–45 °C and 10–85% non-condensing relative humidity; store at 10–70 °C and 5–90% non-condensing relative humidity. These are D-Link AU operating limits, not a waterproof rating.
A Thunderbolt-compatible host connection does not imply 40 Gbps networking. The Ethernet port supports up to 2.5 Gbps. Charging performance depends on supply, cable and host.
A compatible USB-C host and an Ethernet cable/network connection are required for wired networking. A compatible USB-C PD supply and cable are optional for charging pass-through and are not included in the package.
USB-C PD power adapter and suitable cable for charging pass-through
33 g for the DUB-E255 adapter, per D-Link Australian datasheet.
80 × 25 × 15 mm body; Attached cable 180 mm.
USB-C device, not a wireless adapter. 75 mA operating and 63 mA standby current, optional USB-C Power Delivery pass-through up to 100 W, and RCM in its Australian datasheet. Host output depends on the supply and device.
