The D-Link DWM-222W is a USB-powered 4G LTE adapter that creates a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 hotspot for up to eight devices. It is useful for a temporary work location, travel or a backup connection where a compatible mobile-data service has coverage. An active Nano SIM, a data plan and USB power are required separately; the adapter is not an internet service by itself.

LTE download rates up to 150 Mbps and AX300 wireless operation. These are theoretical limits, not a promise of local throughput. Reception, carrier service, connected clients and surroundings affect actual results. The Australian quick guide describes browser configuration at 192.168.125.1 and a reset control. The body measures 105.1 × 32.5 × 13 mm and weighs 30 g.

The datasheet also names a Type-A USB interface while describing a Type-C power input.

Quick Installation Guide

Compatibility

Requires an active Nano SIM (4FF) with compatible 4G data service and coverage, plus USB power. D-Link AU lists Windows, macOS and Linux when plugged into a computer; it can also share its cellular connection to up to eight Wi-Fi devices on 2.4 GHz. The AU webpage lists LTE B1/B3/B7/B28/B40 and UMTS B1/B8, while the AU datasheet lists a broader set with a regional-variant footnote.

Use and product notes

The Australian B1 guide describes web configuration at 192.168.125.1 and a reset control. Change default setup credentials during configuration.

D-Link AU datasheet specifies 0–45 °C and 5–95% non-condensing humidity in operation, and −20 to 70 °C storage. Keep the adapter and SIM slot dry, avoid excessive heat, and follow the AU B1 guide before removing the SIM or resetting the device. It has no water-ingress rating.

An active compatible mobile SIM and data plan are required for cellular internet. The SIM card is shown in the setup steps but is not pictured as a box item.

AU product page rounds this to 105 × 33 × 13 mm.

D-Link AU specifies LTE Cat 4 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax/n/g/b), with theoretical LTE rates up to 150 Mbps down/50 Mbps up and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi rate up to 286.8 Mbps. The exact AU datasheet lists RCM and a USB 2.0 Type-A interface but labels its 5 V/1 A power input USB Type-C; No separate battery is specified for the adapter.
