The useful details
Know what
you’re getting.
The F518 turns a compatible mobile data service into a portable Wi-Fi connection. It supports up to 16 clients and uses a Nano SIM. Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 provides connections on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, while indicator lights show network, wireless and battery status.
The 8000 mAh battery has a manufacturer claim of up to 16 hours, subject to network conditions, connected devices, content, settings and battery ageing. A compatible activated SIM, data plan and service coverage are required separately. Published cellular and Wi-Fi speeds are theoretical maxima.
The hotspot suits a small group of devices at a temporary workplace or while travelling where the selected carrier provides compatible coverage. All clients share the available cellular connection, so sixteen connections do not imply sixteen independent full-speed links. The manual lists the hotspot, USB-C cable, guide and SIM eject tool; it does not list a mains charger. Turn the unit off before inserting or removing the SIM, and use the rear-label network details for initial setup.
Insert an active compatible Nano SIM, charge the hotspot through USB-C and configure its Wi-Fi settings as directed. It shares mobile data with compatible Wi-Fi clients where network service is available.

Specifications
What’s in the box
One F518 hotspot, one USB Type-C cable, one Quick Installation Guide and one SIM eject tool. The B1 manual lists these four items
Compatibility
Requires a compatible Nano SIM (4FF) and mobile data service. Windows, Macintosh or Linux computer with Wi-Fi interface for web configuration and Edge, Firefox 28+, Safari 6+ or Chrome 28+ as browsers. Frequency bands vary by regional hardware
Use and product notes
Requires a compatible active Nano SIM (4FF) with mobile data service and coverage. Note the Wi-Fi name and password on the rear label, turn the unit off before inserting or removing the SIM, then power it on and connect over Wi-Fi or USB-C to configure. A compatible powered USB port or separate USB-C supply charges the battery; only the USB-C cable is in the manual package.
Use at -10 to 40 °C and 10–95% non-condensing humidity; store at -40 to 70 °C. D-Link warns against water, crushing, puncture, heat, fire and use of a swollen battery. Switch off and unplug before SIM insertion/removal; follow local battery recycling rules.
Up to 16 clients and theoretical maximum speeds do not guarantee simultaneous per-device throughput. Battery runtime is conditional.
A compatible active Nano SIM, mobile data plan and carrier coverage are required separately. The included USB-C cable can connect to a powered USB port. An AC charging adapter is not in the manufacturer manual package list and should be treated as separate.
