It is useful for supported notifications and automations, such as responding when an entry is opened, but it does not physically lock or secure the opening.
The selected smart-home platform determines which notifications and automation functions are available. Detailed history uses the Eve app with Apple Home, so the same history presentation should not be promised across every Matter platform.
Tool-free adhesive mounting avoids a wired power installation. A replaceable ER14250 3.6 V half-AA battery is included; this is a specific battery type rather than an ordinary AA cell. The main body measures 52 × 24 × 23 mm, with a smaller separate element whose installation height varies with the supplied arrangement. Check the mounting position and platform requirements during setup using the included guide and a supported phone or tablet.
