Eve Energy is an Australian smart plug that switches a suitable connected appliance through supported smart-home software. It sits between the appliance and a compatible mains outlet, adding remote switching and supported energy-use information to equipment that would otherwise have an ordinary power connection. It can be useful for a lamp or another suitable appliance whose normal behaviour works with switched mains power.
This Matter model communicates over Thread rather than joining a Wi-Fi network directly. A separate compatible hub must provide both a Matter controller and Thread border router. While powered, Eve Energy also acts as a Thread router within the supported network. Setup uses the chosen platform's compatible app; available controls and energy-reporting features depend on that platform.
The selected Australian version uses the Type I socket format and has a maximum load of 10 A and 2300 W. Those regional limits must be respected rather than applying a higher rating from European or other versions. The plug does not add functions inside the connected appliance, and the appliance must be suitable for this switching arrangement. A compatible phone or tablet, hub and the connected appliance are separate requirements.
