Supported video reaches 3840 × 2160 at 30 Hz within the 10.2 Gbit/s signal limit. Mirror mode can show the same image on both screens, while an extended desktop can provide another workspace when the computer’s graphics system supports it. The cable does not create those desktop modes independently of the host.
Audio can travel over the HDMI connection only when the computer supplies audio through DisplayPort. The lead cannot add an audio signal to a silent source. Check both the source output and screen input before ordering: the conversion direction is DisplayPort source to HDMI display, rather than HDMI source to DisplayPort screen.
Male plugs connect directly to the matching sockets. Gold-plated contacts and a black PVC jacket define the connector finish and cable construction. Allow enough length for the chosen route without pulling on the plugs; the computer and receiving display remain separate equipment.
