Lindy HDMI to VGA Converter

The Lindy 38291 converts an HDMI video output into analogue VGA for a compatible older monitor or projector. It provides a way to keep using a VGA display with an HDMI-equipped computer, for example as a presentation screen or a secondary workspace when the host supports that arrangement.
The converter supports up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz, including Full HD 1080p. It performs signal conversion without scaling, so the computer must be set to a resolution accepted by the receiving display. A display that cannot accept the selected mode will not gain that capability from the converter.
The attached 100 mm lead places the HDMI male plug near the compact 37 × 42 × 14.5 mm converter body. A separate VGA cable connects the female VGA output to the monitor. The 27 g product mass is the converter itself, rather than its packaged weight.
This is one-way HDMI-to-VGA conversion. VGA carries the picture and does not carry HDMI audio, so sound needs a separate suitable connection if required. The computer, VGA lead, monitor and any audio equipment are separate from the converter.
