The padded surface provides a softer contact area for wrists, while the smooth top allows a suitable mouse to glide across it. A non-slip underside helps the mat stay in place on a clean, dry desk. Synthetic rubber, nylon and polyester are used in its construction.
The top is spill resistant for easier everyday cleaning, but it is not a waterproof enclosure or protection for exposed electronic equipment. Place it with the non-slip side down and keep the surface clean before using a mouse on it. The selected black mat is a passive desk accessory; the keyboard, mouse and other equipment are separate.
