The TAR1509/00 is a small radio for listening to AM or FM broadcasts without a connected phone. Separate tuning and volume thumbwheels, a band-selection switch and a visible frequency scale provide direct control. A telescopic antenna and signal indicator assist tuning.
Listen through the 100 mW RMS mono speaker or connect compatible headphones to the 3.5 mm output. Two 1.5 V AAA batteries power the radio, and the included wrist lanyard makes it easier to carry.
There is no Bluetooth, audio input, alarm or snooze function.
Tuning and listening take place on the radio itself, so basic reception does not require a phone, app, account or wireless network. The analogue controls make this a straightforward option for someone who wants to find a local broadcast and adjust the volume directly. Connect suitable wired headphones to listen privately, or use the small built-in speaker for nearby listening. Reception depends on the available broadcast signal and placement.
