The glass lid allows a view of the food without uncovering it.
Fit the removable Perfect Temp probe before connecting power. Preheat on the medium-to-maximum setting, then turn its variable thermostat to the desired setting. The probe light cycles as the pan maintains temperature. The Tilt & Baste lever tilts the pan to gather juices and fats at one end for basting, draining or serving.
The DiamondForce coating helps food release, but wooden, silicone or heat-resistant plastic utensils are recommended to protect it. Remove and keep the electrical probe dry before washing. The pan, base and glass lid are described as dishwasher safe in the model guide; the probe must never be immersed. The guide says the shallow pan is unsuitable for deep frying.

Disconnect and remove the probe before cleaning; never immerse it. Let the pan cool. Use non-metal utensils and soft non-abrasive cleaning tools. The guide permits washing the pan, base and lid in a dishwasher after removing the probe and drying its inlet.
Deep frying is unsuitable according to the manual. The pan and lid become hot; place on a level heat-resistant surface and do not move while hot.
