The HP G6 dock connects a compatible laptop to a desktop workspace through its supplied Thunderbolt 4 cable. It offers up to 100 W of host charging, DisplayPort and HDMI display outputs, USB-A and USB-C peripheral ports, and 2.5 Gb Ethernet. Its capabilities depend on the host connection and the computer’s video and USB Power Delivery support.
Maximum combinations require the host’s relevant DisplayPort streams, DisplayPort 1.4 and Display Stream Compression; four-display support is not universal across computers. HP Quick Connect and network-management functions also have host, software and configuration requirements. The included power adapter is rated 120 W, distinct from the maximum 100 W laptop charging output.
For a supported laptop, the dock can keep monitors, network and desk accessories connected in one place, reducing the number of connections made when returning to work. The supplied 1 m Thunderbolt cable provides the host link, while the 121 mm-square body occupies a defined area on the desk. USB-C peripheral ports offer up to 15 W for supported devices, separately from laptop charging. Network speed requires a matching 2.5 Gb connection and infrastructure. A Nano lock slot accepts a separately purchased compatible lock.
